1969 Firebird Restoration

 

 

We love cool cars with great stories.  This one owner Firebird was custom ordered in September 1969 with a pile of options including deluxe interior, Rally II wheels and air conditioning.  46 years later it’s being restored jointly for the owner and his son.  They’ve asked that the aesthetics remain close to original but wanted an updated driving experience.  We’ve tossed the 455 which made its way into the engine bay 30 years ago in favor of a new LS3 crate engine, replaced the Turbo 350 automatic with a T56 Magnum six speed, tossed the drum brakes for four wheel discs and added big sway bars and Bilstein shocks to the chassis.
